About Sun China

Sun China is one of the chinese restaurants listed in Detroit, Michigan. The business is registered at 16921 Telegraph Rd, Detroit, MI 48219; use this page to check its hours, phone number and Google rating before you make the trip. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as takeout restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Detroit; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Michigan are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

The business lists hours on 5 days of the week. Typical hours are 2–10 pm. It is closed on Monday, Thursday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (313) 532-2828. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, sunchina2022.com.

Its Google rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 1,781 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

Detroit is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Detroit follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

My wife highly recommends Sun China to all who love Chinese cuisine. She says everything tastes great!!! She loves her sesame chicken, sweet and sour and the general sap with rice and gravy. Don’t forget to order the egg rolls. Sorry no pictures this time.

It’s always busy so we thought we would give it a try. The pros- the chicken is really crispy in the General Tso and the chicken is really tender in the lomein. Cons it’s kinda pricey. And not a ton of flavor. They gave me the Cantonese lomein instead of the thick noodle one. General Tso isn’t spicy. Fried rice is pretty good. I don’t think we will be going back. When I called there was no price given and when I tried asking a question I was hung up on.

This is hands down one of the best Chinese spots around. The food is always delicious, fresh, and incredibly plentiful. My go-to order is the egg drop soup and General Tso’s chicken, and they never disappoint. The soup is warm and comforting with great flavor, and the General Tso’s chicken has the perfect balance of sweetness and spice with a crispy texture that holds up even after taking it home. I also really loved the fried rice, which was flavorful and well-seasoned, not bland like some places. The portions are amazing for the price. You easily get enough food from one dinner to eat two or even three times. Every visit has been consistent in quality and quantity, and it’s always more food than one person could finish in a single sitting. If you’re looking for great value and some of the best Chinese food I’ve had in a while, this is the place to go.

I bought chicken lomein and for damn near 20. Dollars I got a few little pieces of chicken. I'm absolutely disgusted by that. 90 percent of the meal was soggy noodles. Two pieces of broccoli 2 mushrooms. I just threw it away. Alpo beef chunks dog food looks and smells better than this.
